| The Journey to Truth is a scholarly, in-depth sequel to Dr. Alkebu-Lan's first work, The African American Identity Crisis (1991). In this work, however, a new dimension has been added that is monumental in its achievement. The Journey to Truth is a first, comprehensive, full length diagnosis and prognosis of the African American quest for self determination, social and cultural equilibrium and a religious fulfillment that embraces so many varied references on the subject. Here is a fusion of established Islamic scholars such as Imam W. D. Mohammed, Drs. Hakim Rashid, James Rasheed, and Cheikh Anta Diop with contemporary Non-Muslim scholars such as George G.M. James, Chancellor Williams, Maulana Karenga and Gayraud Wilmore and others. Added to this distinguished group are the up and coming Muslim scholars of contemporary African America (e.g. Pender Madyun, Sharif H. Nadir and Mustapha El-Amin). This synthesis of thought provides the reader a panoramic view of the struggle to achieve human excellence when compared both to ancient societies of Egypt, Mali, Moorish civilization in Spain and Northern Africa, Songhay as well as modern examples through the legacies of Marcus Garvey, Noble Drew Ali, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, El-Hajj Malik Shabazz (Malcolm X), and Imam Warith Deen Mohammed. | What is Truth? Truth may be defined as the Language of God. The Language of God is the plan for successful human life and civilization. To identify the Language of God we must also identify God. God is the ultimate reality of what is the most powerful element in the life of man. The Journey to Truth then is the search of man to identify the true God (i.e., the most powerful force in the life of man) and his plan for the human being -- Truth. | |
